A Strange Dream....

Somewhere between Memphis and Phoenix....

After many long rigorous hours working away on a moving bus, the road pirates found themselves extremely seasick and fatigued. So they made their way to their bunks for a midday nap.....

They awoke in a parking lot in an unknown city in an unknown state. Confused and disoriented, they decided to explore the land. They spied a marketplace and headed toward it. Entering thru a large shop, they were excited about the adventures ahead. They confidently strode toward the entrance to the main marketplace, only to discover that the way was barred by glass walls. Through the walls they could see palm trees and boarded storefronts. As the pirates began to panic, a native of the land came up and offered assistance.

The head pirate inquired, "Where are we?" and was given this answer:

While the answer was deeply philosophical, it did not help the pirates with their journey into the new land so they headed off to the nearby village.

Soon they came upon a place made entirely of cookies. The pirates gazed wonderously upon every cookie imaginable. They quickly stuffed their pockets with the baked goodies and made their way further into the village in search of a slightly more nutritious meal. When they came to the tavern, they were greeted by a beautiful witch who took an instant dislike to the rather scruffy, stinky hood-wearing, cookie-hording pirates. After an extremely long wait and icy stares from the gathering masses, the witch took the buccaneers to a tiny table in the dark back corner. The pirates quickly made their displeasure known and demanded a better more spacious dining area. The witch stomped off with no desire to help.

Just then, a white horse came galloping up to the table. From atop the horse a deep voice sounded and offered assistance to the weary travelers. "I saw you from afar and noticed your exquisite facial structure. Allow me to escort you to the king's banquet hall." The pirates paraded into the beautiful room and were seated at the main table. They were so grateful for the kindness showed to them, they requested the prince's presence for the meal. Sadly, he declined because he had a fence to build but he sent his squire in to care for them. The pirates were treated to a feast of oysters, steaks and rum. At the end of the meal, the prince returned to bid them farewell. He found himself smitten with the head pirate. He knelt before her and said, "I don't know who you are and I don't care. But if you ever find your way back here again, either by accident or by design, I would love to dine with you."

Although the gesture was very kind, the pirate declined as there was much more to be explored. She did impose on the prince and inquire where in the realm entertainment might be found for the travelers. The prince then hailed a rickety ship for the
