My head is going to explode!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
When I signed up for the Tots 2 Teens workshop, I had hoped to come away from it with a couple of new marketing ideas and to get some much needed energy for my photography business.
I learned techniques for keeping the attention of every age group. I learned how to evaluate and light an outdoor session quickly. I learned studio portrait set-ups that will flatter and play to my subject's best features. I learned marketing dos and don'ts that NO ONE tells you about. AND I had the privilege of watching a master in action as Sandy did two live shoots at our session.
And then there are the giveaways from the tour's sponsors. My advise to anyone who has not signed up for this year's tour is, "SIGN UP BEFORE YOUR COMPETITION DOES." It will be the best money that you have spent in years!!!

After returning from tonight's workshop, I know that there is no way that I will get any sleep. My head is swimming with ideas and possibilities.

The thing that I did not expect was for the presentation to be so mindful of today's economy. Sandy shared strategies that she has used in her business that helped her weather three recessions. All proven to work. All doable.
Don't even get me started on the incredible show specials. I went to the seminar thinking that I would not spend a dime, but, honestly, there were some offers that would be ridiculous to pass up.

I plan on signing up for NEXT YEAR'S tour the day that it is announced! My only regret is that I can't go on with her to the next city."
THANK YOU! It was amazing and such a breath of fresh air. With every word that was said, the incredible displays, the set she photographed in tonight, the handouts, and the way the workshop was set up you, can tell that Sandy has passion for everything that she does. And she wasn't afraid to share that with me.

Oh YES, I had the exploding head experience too! I attended the seminar in St. Louis on Sunday--and what a pleasure it was (that's an understatement to the Nth degree.) I am an amateur (with aspirations of course--when my life "quiets down"--sure....) I am beginning to realize life will never quiet down, and the time to follow our passion is now. What a joy to be able to sit and learn from Sandy, who is clearly following her passions and sharing that passion with all of us. Heck, even if I already knew everything she was saying (and I'll tell you, I knew just about nothing of it going in), it was worth the time and money just to enjoy her gifted presentation--it was FUN. I learned a LOT and want to say THANKS!
Sam
You are an amazing woman. I signed up not knowing much about you and really only knowing you from my affiliation with NILMDTS. So I went into the seminar blind, not knowing what to expect from a 'seminar.'
We all know you're a great photographer, but your gratefulness and obvious relationship with "the man upstairs" really struck me. I found myself choked up at times, especially the brief blurb you did about NILMDTS & the amazingly successful charity campaign you designed. I only wish I would have been aware because I could've helped raise even more. Can't wait til next year.
I am a newbie photographer, only at it for about 5 years now. I don't have great equipment (still working with a Rebel XTi and Alien Bees) but boy was I inspired. I'm preparing to move to a new state and my dream is to open a studio. I don't know that it is financially feasible right now or ever, but it's my dream and I've learned so much from you that it really makes me want to do it. I'm not afraid of hard work and I know I could be successful just based on what information I could soak up in those few hours listening to you.
Thank you so much for being such an entertaining speaker and for sharing your vast knowledge of the industry. But even more, than you for being such a witness. You are a true inspiration and my new "secret" mentor (secret to you, anyway). :)
Oooh I go tomorrow in CT and am soooo excited!
It's amazing how Sam keeps going, going, going show after show! She puts some much energy into her seminar. It was great to Sam photograph the children; it was as if the audience wasn't even there. I learned so much and have just joined Sam's World University. Thanks Same, you're an inspiration.
Thank You Thank You Thank You Sam! I've been to seminars in the past that I felt like the speaker was just up there to inflate his big head. You did a fantastic job of doing the opposite. You actually gave me the confidence boost that I need every so often. You made me realize that I am doing things the right way when it comes to working with kids and that it is possible to grow and nurture a photography studio while raising, growing and nurturing my four small children. Like the other woman said, my head is still spinning/swimming with all these fabulous ideas that I can't wait to use! Wish me Luck! Can't wait till next year - can really use a boost with my family portraits!

I attended Bellies and Babies last year and this years Tots2Teens was just as exceptional. Sam you truly are a great mentor to all levels of photographers. You keep your information real and you do not "tell" us what to do - you give us the knowledge we need to succeed. Thank you.
I am already looking towards next years "Families".
